New Bedford High School – Important Update Beginning March 10, 2026

Hello Whalers! 

To continue strengthening safety, security, and attendance accuracy at New Bedford High School, we will be launching two new electronic systems on March 10, 2026.

What this means for students:
🔹 Student IDs Required Daily for Entry
All students must have their school ID and will be required to scan it when entering the building.

• Students who do not have their ID must enter through the main entrance.
• Repeated instances of not having an ID will result in a required parent/guardian meeting.
• Replacement IDs will be issued, and students are expected to have their ID with them every day.

🔹 Electronic Hall Pass System
We will no longer use paper passes. All pass requests will be submitted and monitored through our new electronic system.

• Students must be in their assigned location unless they have an approved pass.
• Misuse of the pass system or being out of location without permission will result in disciplinary action.

These improvements are designed to ensure we have accurate, real-time information about who is in the building and where students are throughout the school day. The safety and security of our school community remains our highest priority.
