  • Sean Patrick Toomey Memorial Scholarship 
    Award: $1000
    Eligibility: Graduating seniors who reside in New Bedford. Must demonstrate financial need and provide documentation of community service.

  • Prince Henry Society of MA, Inc. Scholarship
    Eligibility: This scholarship is Open to residents of the Greater New Bedford Area who are of some Portuguese descent.

  • Robyn A. Dabrowski Memorial Scholarship
    Eligibility: Applicants must participate in interscholastic activities and have been accepted by, and will attending, an accredited institution of higher learning.

  • The Rose L. Murphy Scholarship
    Eligibility: Open to residents of the Greater New Bedford Area and are pursuing a degree in one of the following fields: agriculture, conservation, horticulture, landscape architecture, forestry or environmental sciences.

    Eligibility: Graduating seniors residing in Fairhaven or Acushnet.

    Award: $1000, 3 awards
    Eligibility: Senior students furthering their career in healthcare (healthcare is defined as any area related to the medical field).

    Eligibility: Must be a Somerset Federal Credit Union member or dependent of member.

  • The Syrian Lebanese Women's Club of Greater Boston
    Eligibility: Must be of recognized Syrian or Lebanese descent (at least one parent or grandparent must be of Syrian or Lebanese origin).

  • Tempus Unlimited, Inc. Scholarship 
    Award: $2500, up to 2 awards per high school
    Eligibility: Aspiring students who have disability(s), and have overcome challenges who will attend higher education after high school.

  • William F. Taylor Memorial Scholarship 
    Award: $1000
    Eligibility: New Bedford High School graduating senior who plans on plating a sport at the NCAA collegiate level.

  • Your Theatre, Inc. - Mary A. Smith Memorial Scholarship
    Award: $1000
    Eligibility: Open to graduating seniors who intend on pursuing a career in the Performing Arts.

  • Arthur Moniz Scholarship Fund

    Award: $1000, 3 awards
    Eligibility:  This scholarship is in memory of Arthur Moniz, a graduate from New Bedford High School. It is open to all students.

  • Baycoast Bank Catches for College Scholarship
    Award: $2000, 20 awards
    Eligibility: For this scholarship, students must be a graduating, high school senior who is pursuing higher education at a two- or four-year college program or technical school. Apply Here

    Eligibility: Must be a University of Massachusetts applicant.

    Eligibility: Open to all graduating high school seniors.

  • Club Madeirense S.S. Sacramento Charitable Foundation, Inc. Scholarship 
    Award: $1000
    Eligibility:  Open to graduating seniors seeking an undergraduate or associate degree from an accredited college or university or seeking a certificate from an accredited trade school.  There are three categories of the application: Open (All candidates), Portuguese (Candidates of Portuguese descent), Madeiran (Candidates of Madeiran descent)

    Award: $1000
    Eligibility:  Applicants must be graduating seniors who have been accepted into an approved college or junior college, vocational, business school or other educational institution. Two separate applications are available from this organization.

    Award: $1000
    Eligibility: Applicants must be a Gear Up student who has demonstrated academic excellence.

    Award: $1000
    Eligibility: Applicants must be a Gear Up student who wish to enter the field of human services or education

  • Gonsalves Family Scholarship 
    Award: $500

    Eligibility: Applicants must be NBHS senior. Applicant must have been member of the New Bedford Boys and Gils Club for at least four years by showing continued interest in the organization by being member, by having been or by being employed there, or through an ongoing relationship by engaging in community service.

  • Grand Lodge Knights of Phythias Scholarship Due April 1, 2021
    Award: $1000
    Eligibility: Open to graduating seniors who demonstrate exceptional community service.

  • Grand Lodge of MA Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America Scholarship​​​​​​​
    Award: $1000, 20 awards
    Eligibility: Applicants must be enrolled in a four-year undergraduate program or an accredited academic institution for the Fall 2021 term.

  • Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, Inc. Scholarship
    Award: up to $1000
    Eligibility: Applicants must have been in a grandparent(s) legal custody and raised by at least one grandparent. All applicants must be enrolled in a 2 year community college or 4 year university.

  • Greater Southeastern MA Central Labor Council Annual Scholarship 
    Award: $1000, 3 awards
    Eligibility: High school seniors living in Southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod, and the Islands whose parents, legal guardian, aunts, uncles, or grandparents are members of a labor union affiliated with the Greater Southeastern Massachusetts Labor Council.  The student applicant may also be a member of a labor union affiliated to the labor council.

  • Hawthorn Medical Associates Scholarship
    Award: $2000
    Eligibility:  Applicants must be graduating seniors who will be pursuing a career in the health field.  Eligible students should be accepted into an accredited program in nursing, pre-med, radiologic technology, laboratory sciences, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, certified medical assistant, or other health related fields.

    Award: $2000, 5 awards
    Eligibility: Applicants must be graduating seniors who are residents of Massachusetts.

  • Lucy Camara Bly Memorial Scholarship
    Award: $1000
    Eligibility: Any New Bedford High School senior girl who wishes to continue her education beyond high school.

  • Mark Bavis Leadership Foundation Scholarship
    Eligibility: All applicants must write a short essay describing your leadership qualities and/or ways in which you have made a difference through your own personal efforts to help others.

  • Massachusetts Association of Insurance Woman (MAIW) Scholarship Due March 31, 2021

  • Massachusetts JCI Senate Scholarship Due January 22, 2021

  • Matt T. Benoit Memorial Scholarship Fund
    Eligibility: From the application: “The intent of the organization is to award these scholarships to a student that most resembles the qualities that Matthew T. Benoit had.  Matt was an average academic student with a solid academic record and appropriate course load.  The scholarship recipient must maintain a similar academic record.  Matt was a four sport varsity athlete and considered a total team player. The scholarship recipient must display the same appreciation of teamwork that Matt did.  Matt also held down a part time job, making effective use of his time.  A student that can display the same time management skills will be considered.  Matt had a true love of family and his faith.”

  • M.S.O.A. Scholarship
    Eligibility: Students interested in pursuing a degree in Marine Biology. Student who are interested are encouraged to obtain a recommendation from either a science teacher or guidance counselor.

  • NBHS Class of 1961 Scholarship
    Award: $1000
    Eligibility: This scholarship awards $1000 to a recipient on the basis of academic record, personal qualifications, and financial need.

    Eligibility: New Bedford High School graduating senior; eligibility guidelines vary, see scholarship information for details.

    Award: $1000, 6 awards
    Eligibility: New Bedford resident and/or graduate of New Bedford-area high school.

  • Our Lady of Angels Catholic Association Scholarship
    Eligibility: Open to all graduating seniors who are achieving academic success and have a demonstrated history of community service.

  • Padre Pio Cape Verdean Scholarship
    Award: $1000, 5 awards
    Eligibility: High school senior of Cape Verdean descent, applicant must have received written notification that they have been accepted to an accredited college, university, technical, or vocational school.
